Mini Gathering

salam everyone.. so yesterday i was msn-ing with Sky @ Simon and found out that he'll be in Brunei at the end of the month and early next month and he was wondering if we could do a mini gathering just for him.. heheh.. or somthing like that~~ i don't mind being the planner.. So i sms everyone about it but not sure if everyone received it or not so do let our friends know about it..

Remember that there are specific conditions imposed in order to ascertain that a financial product is halal (no riba). Two primary conditions are 1)transactions needs to be on the spot 2)the value needs to be equivalent. As for forex leverage some argued that because the amount "controlled" does not really exists (since it can only be realized when profit is made) it might be constituted as gharar (uncertainty) and is thus not permissible (haram). Some form of forex leverage also uses derivatives (forwards, options, futures, etc.) and is thus is not permissible. Again I am not by any means an expert (or even remotely knowledgeable) therefore it is better to refer to professionals in this matter.

Open Class 2007

We had a great time last Thursday celebrating Eid when the Intake 21 Business Management Department hosted the Hari Raya Open Class 2007 event. Despite the hectic morning (thanks to the showers in the morning and an uncalled for-unappropriate-assembly heheh) on the day of the event and the limited time we had for the event (us banking group had an afternoon class) we managed to had lotsa fun. Thanks to everyone for the foods: we had Potato Chips with dips, cheesecakes, tapak kudas, marukus, sausages, crab-balls, nasi putih and nasi kebuli, telur masak merah, daging kari, murtabak, pastas, grilled chicken (courtesy of ideal..and zack and maria hehe) noodles, sates, clamps masak kicap, shepard's pie..umm..soya bean, mirindas, coke, sehat, sprite..and candies!!! (hope i listed everything hehe) wow that was an exhaustive list. it's no surprise our class had the most food out of the three heheh kudos banking! even though there were lotsa leftovers everyone ended up tapau-ing, which is ok since we're the ones spending the $$$ anyways haha. everyone looked macho and gorgeous in their baju rayas (yes even jason hahaha kiddin)..'memakai baju warna warni'...hehe and the photoshoot sessions were sooooo banyak we all felt like models at the end of the day haha (hope to post those pics up here soon..Am, that's your cue heheh). Oh and Max we are sooooo soory we forgot to inform you: it was so last minute..maaf zahir and batin ya hehe.. i think the highlight of the day was the 'strongman competition' where the guys pit amongst each other to prove who can last longer putting their arms in the cooler filled with ice+water haha..we uploaded the video in the newly added video tab to the right of the blog for your viewing pleasure hehehe.. Finally we would like to thank everyone for the successful event! till next time

Hey guys, I know that this post is long overdue but here goes. Firstly, in response to the previous post my re-sit took place on the 24th july (long past eheh). Results will be out on the 9th at 11ish btw. Secondly, attachment will start this 13th of august.

Thirdly, just wanna announce that the BFB polo shirt project, which was stalled since december last year is up and running once again. A 'prototype' (as Ammar would call it) is being made and will be completed this friday. Hopefully it will look like as we've all envisioned it to be yea? and here's hoping that it will be so eheh. I'll show u guys their catalogue soon, intersting stuffs they have in it eheh.

Neways, I just wanna inform to all that the ITB Inter-Department Football has come to its end with the final playing this Sunday, 8th July 2007 at the Padang Kebajikan (where ITB held its Sports Day). The kick-off will be at 4.30pm. There's a small event going on before the kick-off so you guys might want to come early. It started at around 3pm. Please come in crowds and give support to our department, Business and Finance, as we will be battling it out with CIS for the trophy!

I do hope all of you could come to support us! Cancel all your plans for that day! Haha. I guess that's it. Hope to see you guys this Sunday!

Wassup? Hope all of you are fine. Hope the assignments are halfway through. Perhaps, maybe you guys are revising for Marketing and PPB now. Hehe. As for me, I'm in Singapore now! I'm using the Broadband to go online! Yay! (Though I still don't understand what's broadband!Haha)

I went to KL using AirAsia yesterday. Flight leaving BSB was at 6.15. Arrived at LCCT KL at 8.30. Today, all I did in KL was buying the AF ticket! Haha. At arnd 1.30, went to Singapore using bus. Man, it was one hell of a ride!!! It took 7 hours to reach here! I repeat, 7 hours! Unfortunately, the bus didn't have a table. If it did, I would finish my ITF by now! Haha. Yup, you've guessed it right. I haven't complete my ITF! Haha. Membawa laptop tah ku nie nyamo! My ITF and Marketing are joining me to KL and Singapore but I'm not bringing them to watch AF! Haha. Apakan??!!

It's been a while since I've posted something here. Biasalah, busy with studies&assignment. Haha. Macam banar! Well, regarding FIM test, I've nothing to say. All I can say, wait til results are out! Haha

Anyways, I wanna say Happy Holidays(or is it?) to everyone. I'm not sure if it's gonna be a happy one. Unless you guys define happy by having 2 marketing replacement class on 1 day, 4 assignments and 2 units to study for test when school reopens! Haha. For me, that's Worst Holiday! Haha. Anyhow, I hope you guys gonna enjoy your holiday. I'm gonna give a little motivating quotation to you guys: "Don't let your work stops you from enjoying your holiday!". Motivating kah? Hehe. The Magic Word: ‘Magic’

Last night I spent some time studying my notes (Interest rates to be specific) and I came across an infinite number of financial jargon (most of which were obviously completely alien to me) and mathematical complexities (Serves me right for my lack of concentration during lecture). Struggling, however, I managed to go through a few pages but soon decided to stop in fear that I would further damage my brain cells.
Later that night I was still trying to figure out some of the concepts. But the more I thought about it, the sleepier I got. It was then that I remembered what my O level economics teacher used to say: “…don’t bother about the details…just accept it as it is…its magic”. Ridiculous as that may be, not to mention impractical, there could be some truth in it. I mean with a test coming up (in less than two weeks!) and with little to no understanding of the topic or subject matter (what more: preparations), it could be our only choice, like they say “Desperate times calls for desperate measures”. The understanding can come later, if ever (for all I care). The important thing is don’t ask questions, trust the scholars, and hope that you wont screw up…much.
It’s no sage advice, but Ignorance IS bliss…sometimes.

Well, I just wanna share a little something-something here. It's the thought actually though. Hehe. Nwy, how are you guys finding our final year? Honestly speaking, its DIFFICULT for me!
It's been 4 weeks now and my mind is still not catching up with all the works! Everytime we have a discussion, my mind goes blank!! Yup, BLANK!! I really don't know what happen.
Maybe my mind is still going through the "culture shock" process from attachment to studying! Haha. I even find it hard to understand some of the lecture! It's true! Entahlah guys! I have a new announcement to make and would like your feedback about this. Due to the increasing demand of photocopied notes (from the server), i had to inform everyone that the social fund of $1.00 every month is not enough to support our needs on 'photocopied notes'. Every month, the total social fund of our class is $20.00. Our previous collected fund can support our needs for the next 2 months, but we might have fund shortages after that. Why is that? Just this month, we spend nearly $40.00 on the notes itself deducting half of our previous fund. After discussion, we figure out that if the social fund for each person is increase to $2.00 each month, the probability of having fund shortages is minimal. holidays are over and its great to see everyone again, haven't seen some of the gang for 6 months and the rest, less than that, heh heh. everyone's back at class starting yesterday 22nd Jan '07. remember: go back to I-T-B after lunch, not to HSBC, SCB, RTB, Baiduri, Citibank, IBB, NBT etc etc etc just in case you guys forgot.

BFBanking were fragmented over the course of 6 months due to placements at various organisations (examples of which are listed above, if yours isn't listed..jgn mare eheh). However BFB21 is now back and can be found in the room 2F.43. To those BFB members starting their 4th semester, good luck people! To the rest, good luck jua, wherever you guys are; you guys are NOT forgotten, we will still talk abt you.. somehow ehehe. no pics abt the reunited BFBs though (guys post some!)

Apa kabar semua? How's holiday so far? Mine's good. Well if main game and tengok tv saja di rumah not a bad thing, I guess my holiday's GOOD! Hehe. Been checking this blog a few times but there's nothing new! Daripada biarkan ia diam diri, let me give some shout outs(is this call a shout out?).

Well guys, few days left before we're going back to ITB! Are you ready?? Menghitung hari ja ni! Hehe. Well, I'm gonna finish off my holiday with probably joining a Pro Evolution Soccer(PES) 6 tournament at the Mall from Friday to Sunday. The qualification will be on Friday and Saturday while the final is going to held on Sunday. I'm not sure where the exact place this tournament gonna takes place. From what I heard, dekat-dekat Mister Pizza. So, datanglah beramai-ramai ke Mall pada hari-hari yang di nyatakan untuk menyampitkan Mall! Hahaha

IF I'm not joining, I'll probably go Temburong on Saturday to attend a wedding on Sunday with my parents. Tido sana lah tu. Hehe.

Hello everyone, I've got a few announcements and reminders this time around

First off happy birthday to one fellow bfb21: anna whose birthday was just yesterday, January 9th. We wish her all the best in everything. Happy Birthday!!!

Secondly, though it has not been confirmed, we might be starting our 4th semester on the 22nd of January. Results for SWE attachment program could be out on the 3rd of February. On the start of the semester we would gather in room 2F.43 for further instructions.

We're still on the lookout for shops that makes or sells polo shirts (for bfb). If you guys have any suggestions, do mail us at bfbanking21@gmail.com.

Hey Bankers!

Regarding the Polo Shirt, its not true that I'm in-charge!I was forced! Haha. Nah, I'm joking. Btw, one idea that we come up was :

The BFB21 logo (the blue white logo) is to be on the left side of the shirt. Size: not so big, not so small.
For guys: When the collar is raised, your name will be there. (Your name will be visible if the collar is raised) Reason: Fashion laki2 memakai polo shirt masa ani :)
For girls: Your name will be on one side(decided later) of the sleeve. Reason: Don't think girls would like to wear the shirt with collar raise, right? Hehe

That's what we've come up so far. For any suggestions, just email or post it here, ayt? Colour of the shirt is also yet to be decided. That's it for now! Adios! Tata!
